Yeah too early indeed, Big L was just 25 when shot dead :/
His career was really just taking flight for real, he would be large today if he hadnt been shot, so skilled and had a flow and voice that was sooo nice ! :) D.I.T.C. were never the same after that :(

What are your absolute favourite bands ? :)

Mine is Atmosphere, "Slug" no question one of the best lyricist´s out there and "ant" producing the tracks. For me the beat is nr 1 and if there is a good lyric under it it´s a definite plus, and thats what Atmosphere bring to the table. Awesome beats with deep lyrics about real life events and drama :P
I have gone through some messed up shit in my life from being raised by my mother after my drunken dad left and been fucked over by women, atmosphere has always brought me through the tough shit life has thrown my way :) Love em ! :)

Nice choice. It's really hard to pick just one but The Roots has to be one of the most consistent groups out there. A bit lighter on lyrics and more mainstream than Atmosphere, but still one of my favorites.

Also a big fan of Black Star even though I never cared much for Mos Def as a solo artist. Too bad they never made a follow up to their classic album.
