As for SK people 67% wants the reunification however if it would mean reduction of their liveing costs only 19% is for reunification. Remeber that there is need for huge amount of $ to rebuild NK - see as an example West Germany that is still poorer than East Germany, even after 20 years of unification.

I think that its not about Kim Jong Il, its Kim Jong-un how become 4 star general at age 27/28. So there is need to show that he is strong, powerful. We can assume for 90% that this guy will take the power after his father.
There are many such countires however, as some says to force China to be democratic country, I say that those poeple doesn;t know Asia and China. This country has 6000 years of autoritarian rules vs 30 years of liberalization in economy. If you ask Hongkong people if they want democtracy or rules as in East states from 80% !! you will hear NO ! Our system is good for us. And same is with most chinese. There is only small grupe of people that want democracy. Moreover I think that this system that is now in china works very good even better than our poor democtratic with many parties that are homo, islamo fobias.
2 300 000 units ! (not officaly), even China has only 1 600 000. Not many people know that Japan is obligated to pay NK $60 bln as recopensation for war destructions, moreover Japanese gorvernment accept this. Some part was payed due to 6 party talk, hence NK wants to commence this talk again.

You don't get Asia do you ? Show me demotratic country in Asia, or the one that become democtratic after opening ? Ok India however only coz British occupation, Japan ? do you realy think that Japan is demotratic in the means of out understanding of democracy ? Forceing othere counties the way of ruleing as it is in Europe is not good way for cooperation, 1st of all not everywhere out system work or would work 2nd of all if society accepts the system, why change it ?
Democracy in China would be civil war coz there is 12 mln people who are classificated as minority.
Did you know that there was no war, anywhere, in last 30 or even 40 years coz of Gevena Convenction ? There need to be said that one country has casus bella against another and than this country call for war. Howevere if there is no casus bella (just like all 70 conflicts between 1960 - 1980), there can not be war coz - now its called military conflitc.
This what happend in Korea is just an incident, just like 6000 other since the korean war. The Sk accept that there is threat of an att from NK and they live with it as sth normal.
Moreover there can not be war coz of relations between countries. i.e. conflitic between NK and Sk mean:
China goes with NK, if China reacts that mean move of USA and Japan. If USA would move their units Russia wouldn't stand and wait for invitation. More: China move meas reaction from his ally Iran and Pakistan. If those two will move India will go for Pakistand and Isreal for Iran...and so on and so on. Belive me war/ conflitc in Korea peninsula means not local war/conflitc, so there is small possibility for such result.
