Hey! Since that topic is locked for some reason, I will give my thoughts here.

SWAT4 already has it's own URI handler, `swat4://`, which you should only add to your registry. So the program/script in this case would be trivial to make and also verify that has no side effects. I am not sure what you did because I didn't look at the program, but I see the protocol is different. In any case, if SWAT was a bit more alive I think better course of action would be to create SWAT4 RPC/GameSDK client for Discord (which would then allow joining servers via Discord).

Thanks, although copy pasting a server's ip or using a bind to connect to a server is much more faster(personally).

Completely agree with the first part, which is why I was confused as to why the protocol was changed. Not to imply that there's anything malicious behind the change, but I am curious about the reason.

You can make your own shortcut also, to join directly to a SWAT server btw, and since only few servers are active you don't need many shortcuts.

I have sent the source code to linux so you can see that there is nothing strange
for example I have not installed the game and I have various versions so I can connect directly to a server with this method

I changed the protocol because even installing the game it was not possible to call it from the browser.
and then if a user has several versions it is not possible to recall a specific version. it would have been possible to create the necessary keys. but it would have been more complicated to do and then if a user changed the default path it wouldn't work anyway
this seemed to me the fastest and safest system to do. added source code to download :)
